"Trees are clad." Suggested the marginally overweight feline. "What do you mean? I thought we were just looking out the window...I'm...not looking at trees...why would you think that?" I said, suddenly annoyed by the observation made by my brother. "I was just saying..." He replied, glaring at me from the corner of his eyes "What's wrong?"
"Nothin'..."
"Mhmm..."
I could tell that he didn't exactly believe me, but he seemed to blow it off. He continued to look out the window with his greenish-yellowish eyes, similar to mine but his were always a bit greener, or maybe his darker coat made it appear as so. Moments past between our last exchange of words and I grew bored with the clear material. I turned from it. I could feel my brothers eyes on me, questioning my intentions...turning from an open window was odd. We usually spent the first morning hours just staring through it;one of the best forms of entertainment offered to us in our home.
"I'm bored...the house is nice but it's to simple of a place to stay--er--intrested in, but I digress...I'm staaaarving-gah!" I yowled it out to all the world, or at least loud enough for mommie to hear, she should have been up hours ago anyways, but today was Saturday and there was no need to get up early for work. I waited, ears perked and waiting for response and mewed loudly for emphasis. "Shuuuud up putty tat...!" I heard mommie call out in a teasing tone. Her mood was already so positive, it made my chest rumble with purrs. I sauntered towards her room for the mornings greetings but a dark grey form buzzed past me. By the time I caught up there was my brother and mommie, bent down over the edge of her bed and petting him.
My brother had is back arched, hind end waving in the air as he soaked up mommies pettings and "Mc lubbins", as she called them. I couldn't help but become jealous as I watched them through the doorway. My brother looked down at me as mommie finally climbed off the bed to pick him up, pressing a few kisses into the side of his face with her full lips. He was rubbing it in and not for any good reason. I scooted back from the door way to make room for her, trying not to stumble on my tail as she pushed past me with two long and fur less legs. "Good morning Herc!" She briefly said to me even though she was halfway down the hallway. My brother peeked out at me with an aloof face, playing it cool as if I didn't already know what he was doing.
"Mommas boy..." I muttered, following them into the kitchen. I'll just fit that fly I caught yesterday into his bowel of kibble while he isn't looking.
